Honor the Legacy of Dr. Pauline Rose Clance: Empower the Next Generation of Changemakers

Dr. Pauline Clance changed the way the world understands self-doubt, achievement and identity. As the originator of the Impostor Phenomenon, her work—co-conceptualized with her student at the time and co-author, Suzanne Imes—has empowered millions to recognize their worth and embrace their success.

A beloved professor, mentor and advocate, Dr. Clance served for decades at Georgia State University, where she is honored as Professor Emerita of Psychology. Her leadership helped shape the university’s clinical psychology program and advanced equity for women in academia.

We invite you to contribute to the Pauline Rose Clance Honors Scholarship at Georgia State University—a fund dedicated to supporting students who demonstrate academic excellence in the field of Psychology through the Honors College.

This scholarship will:

  • Support students in Psychology at the Honors College who are passionate about dismantling internal barriers to achievement.
  • Celebrate the values Dr. Clance championed: authenticity, resilience and empowerment.
  • Ensure her legacy continues to inspire future generations of scholars, clinicians and changemakers.

Whether you’ve benefited from her research, her mentorship or simply believe in the power of education and equity—your gift makes a difference.

Join us in honoring a pioneer. Invest in the future.
