Apply to the Spring 2026 Crowdfunding Cycle

IMPACT Georgia State is Georgia State University’s official crowdfunding platform, empowering faculty and staff to raise awareness and philanthropic support for university-affiliated projects through the Georgia State University Foundation.

Crowdfunding at Georgia State is powered by peer-to-peer relationships and supported by the Annual Giving team. Project teams leverage their personal networks while receiving strategic guidance, institutional branding and communications support.

Spring 2026 Crowdfunding Model

For Spring 2026, IMPACT Georgia State will operate through a single application window with approved projects launching on a rolling basis during a defined March launch period.

All approved spring projects will run as short-term impact campaigns designed to create urgency and momentum.

Types of Projects

IMPACT Projects
Short-term campaigns with a specific dollar or donor goal.
Spring 2026 projects will run for an initial 45-day campaign period, with the option to extend if strong momentum is demonstrated.

EVERGREEN Projects
Ongoing campaigns supporting long-term departmental or program priorities.Evergreen projects are not part of the Spring 2026 cycle.

Projects must support Georgia State University Foundation-approved initiatives. Crowdfunding is not permitted for salaries, tuition and fees, student organizations or external causes.

Before You Apply

To be considered for the Spring 2026 cycle, applicants should:

  • Review the About Page & FAQ for eligibility guidelines and prohibited uses
  • Coordinate with their department or unit leadership regarding fundraising priorities
  • Identify an existing GSU Foundation fund to support the project whenever possible
  • Be available to meet required deadlines and participate in preparation activities

What Makes a Strong Project?

Successful crowdfunding projects typically have:

  • A clear and compelling need for philanthropic support
  • An identifiable audience of potential donors
  • A strong story that can be shared across networks
  • A committed project team willing to actively promote the campaign
  • Attainable fundraising goals (typically $2,000–$5,000)

How the Annual Giving Team Will Support You

Annual Giving will provide:

  • A Project Leader Checklist and Collaborator’s Manual
  • Audience insights and solicitation guidance
  • Templates for email, ThankView and print flyers
  • Platform training and technical support
  • Review and approval of all project content
  • Scheduling guidance for launch, midpoint and final push outreach

Project teams will provide:

  • All written and visual content for solicitations and updates
  • Active participation during the campaign period
  • A stewardship or thank-you video and donor updates following the campaign
