The College Sport Research Conference
The College Sport Research Institute (CSRI) Conference is the leading academic conference on issues in college sports, held in Columbia, SC. The CSRI Case Study Competition provides an annual opportunity for Georgia State Sport Administration students to compete against students from across the country. Over the past 15 years, the Georgia State Sport Administration program has sent 11 graduate student case study teams to represent the program in the national competition, earning first place in both 2015 and 2024. We are looking to defend our title in March 2025!
For the case study, students are challenged to think critically about issues in the college sport industry, apply theories and concepts learned from classes, and hone their presentation skills, as they compete on a national stage. We are asking for your support as Georgia State Sport Administration seeks to bring home a second consecutive win. Your donation will go towards registration fees, lodging, and transportation to the conference in Columbia, South Carolina.
A Program Tradition
Our first visit to CSRI conference was in 2010, when we had two teams of graduate students compete; one team earned 3rd place in the national competition! From there, we became a perennially case competition attendee and contender: 2011 (2nd place), 2012 (2nd place), 2015 (1st place), 2019 (2nd place), 2024 (1st place). Regardless of the outcome, students gained knowledge and perspectives from attending the academic conference sessions and networking with students, faculty, and industry leaders at the conference.
