Allegro Fund

As a College of the Arts donor, you have the opportunity to support a Georgia State artist in the throes of creation! Every gift to the Allegro Grant Fund goes directly to a College of the Arts (COTA) student as they bring their inspiration to life.

Allegro is a term indicating that a section of music should be played in a quick, lively and spirited way. Allegro grants lift the spirits of COTA students and quicken their time to graduation by lessening the financial burdens they face. These grants directly influence the ability of students to continue their creative activity and research inside and outside the classroom.

Some of the arts-related expenses COTA students may face include:

  • Instrument rental – Alto clarinet $30/month, Contrabassoon - $380/semester, French horn - $75/summer
  • $150 or more for enough clay to create a large-scale project for a Welch School of Art & Design student, not including other tools and materials needed.
  • A good quality, budget video camera for a film student averages $1500.
  • Private, one-on-one, music lessons - depending on the level of the instrument - can cost  $100, $150, $200, or  even $350.

Each $500 Allegro Grant helps a student pay for arts-related expenses such as instruments and supplies for their recitals, conferences, exhibitions and more.

Lift artists spirits with a gift to the Allegro Fund today!

Meet Allegro Grant Fund Recipient: Cam King

"My Allegro grant came unexpectedly and just in time! In the spring semester, I needed my own professional-grade camera to build my portfolio and get more film work. Seeing those grant dollars in my account was a great surprise and just a few months later, my new camera and I were off to study abroad in Japan! I got a ton of amazing, high quality footage that I'm excited to show." - Cam King, Class of '25
