 | Dr. Darryl B. Holloman has established the Bayard Rustin and Pauli Murray LGBTQ+ Excellence fund to provide critical resources to support the LGBTQ+ community at Georgia State. In his own words, “I give back to Georgia State because it is where I found a sense of belonging and affirmed my identity” that through the LGBTQ+ Excellence Fund “will provide a space of intention where students can explore the full range of their identity, see and learn from others like them and feel connected with their community and the university as a whole.” Darryl points out that "Intentional spaces like the Gender & Sexuality Resource Center were not as available on college campuses when I was a student, but I’ve repeatedly seen at every higher education institution I’ve worked for the need for spaces where students can process what they’ve learned in class – understand what it means and how to apply it or challenge it." Dr. Holloman's investment in the Gender & Sexuality Resource Center and the students at Georgia State will have significant impacts on the ways the University can support them. |
| About the Resource Center The Gender and Sexuality Resource Center (GSRC) and the newly named Dr. Darryl B. Holloman Gender & Sexuality Resource Room is an extension of the Multicultural Center and focuses on providing services, resources and intentional support for students identifying as or connecting to LGBTQIQA and varying gender identities. Located in Student Center East, the Gender and Sexuality Resource Center is on the second floor with its entrance through the Multicultural Center’s main lobby, Suite 206. The GSRC provides services including programming, workshops, organizational support and mentoring. Programming and services focus on all identities within the LGBTQIQA and varying gender communities. The GSRC welcomes all faculty, students and staff who would like to serve as allies for the LGBTQIQA and varying gender communities or those interested in learning more. |  |
