Q&A with NLA Member, Ben Bradbury
What is the best aspect of NLA?
Ben: The people. Getting to serve with others that are passionate about nonprofit work and who want to change lives.
Why did you join NLA?
Ben: I joined because I saw an opportunity to network with other professionals, learn from their experiences, and (having field experience myself) hopefully be an asset to someone looking to get their start in nonprofit work.
Describe your anticipation for AMI?
Ben: I’m really looking forward to the experience and hope to be challenged to pursue a deeper understanding of the issues we are trying to solve, as well as some practical ways we can solve them together. I hope to gain tools and resources that can help me in my career path. I’m particularly excited about the informational interviews and the opportunity to meet and learn from nonprofit experts who have worked in the sector for a long time.
What have you gained from NLA?
Ben: In just a few short months, I have gained valuable insight from our general body guest speakers, who have presented some really interesting topics that have challenged me to think differently about the issues I see in our sector. I have also received very helpful wisdom from Professor O’Kane and our amazing Executive Board, who are doing a tremendous job leading NLA and I’m very proud and humbled to serve with them.
