Thanks to everyone who has made a gift so far, we've raise $1,500 towards our goal of $5,500. We still have more to raise, so we are extending the project through September 23 when our photo exhibit opens. Please help us share this project to raise awareness about our photo collection.
Hi everyone,
Can you believe we've already raised $1,080 for the preservation of our photographic collections? Our original goal was $600, but with your donations we surpassed that...and then some! Thank you so much for contributing to such a worthy cause. You really are saving a piece of Atlanta's history, one donation at a time.
Before we go any further, we should probably introduce ourselves. We are Michelle Asci (Photo Specialist) and Hilary Morrish (Archival Processing & Exhibits) the exhibit team behind "A Race Against Time: Saving Atlanta's Photographic History." Here's a few photos of us looking through the Ernest Welch collection. After a little bit of digging we found these great slides that would be perfect for the physical and digital exhibit.
Watch out for another post soon. We'll be sharing about Ernest Welch, the Atlanta Journal-Constitution, and all of the unique artifacts we find along the way.
Until next week!
-Hilary and Michelle

This will fund the restoration of one 4" x5" photographic negative for the exhibit.
This will help us purchase display mounts and materials for the exhibit.
This will help us to enhance our exhibit with interactive technology.
