Help SAA Pounce to DC

 Our Project:

In August, the GSU Student Alumni Association Board of Directors will be traveling to Washington DC to attend the Annual CASE ASAP Network Convention. CASE ASAP is where our SAA student leaders learn best practices from other colleges and universities across the nation that will help us to implement campus programs that build networking opportunities and connections between students and alumni of Georgia State University.

The goal of this project is to raise money to help cover the costs for the 25 members of the SAA Board of Directors who will be attending the convention. They will travel over 700 miles to our nation’s capital to showcase their love for GSU, while learning more ways to help bridge the gap between students and alumni.  We need your help to Pounce to DC!

Why Give:

Your contribution will have a  significant impact on helping to build student and alumni engagement programs  for the Georgia State University community. Each donation will help us cover the registration, lodging, and travel costs for the 25 members of SAA Board of Directors who need to ‘Pounce to DC’ to attend the CASE ASAP Network Convention. Help us to create more opportunities for all of our Panthers for Life- because once a Panther, always a Panther!

About us:

The GSU Student Alumni Association (SAA) is the student division of the Alumni Association and was created to help bridge the gap between alumni and students, while building students up to become ‘Panthers for Life’. As the largest student organization on campus with over 2,200 members, SAA’s mission is to unite current students with alumni in a manner that creates strong values, pride, and traditions for both students and alumni of Georgia State University. This is done through a number of programs and events to help increase school spirit, foster awareness of issues pertaining to the University community, advance networking opportunities between alumni and students, and to cultivate leadership skills in students. The SAA Board of Directors is a group of over 40 members who serve as the official student leaders for the organization and drive the foundation for building up the student and alumni engagement program.

While only 4 years old, the GSU Student Alumni Association has earned several notable accomplishments in its brief history. They include:

  • 2011 GSU Homecoming Spirit Competition Winner
  • 2011 CASE ASAP School Spirit Award Winner
  • 2012 GSU Student Organization of the Year
  • 2014 CASE ASAP District 3 Outstanding Organization
  • 2014 CASE ASAP National Outstanding Organization
  • SAA has hosted and participated in over 300 events and programs since its inception. This includes over 100 GSU alums hosting dinners for more than 400 students through the annual Dinners with 12 Panthers program
